PLEASE READ! It's here, the professional logisticians knowledge share portal - LOGNet. Read here for more information and how you can be a part. Because of my time devoted to professional Army efforts over the next few years, www.vamilitary.net will be shutting down toward the end of the summer. If there are broken links or you do not know where to find something, use LOGNet in the Ordnance community and inquire by making a post asking where to find something.

Welcome to the Unit Maintenance SOP. DA Pam 750-35 Chapter 5 outlines the need and the contents of a unit maintenance SOP. It is the foremost guideline for a good maintenance SOP. What I have here is a mere format to start with and it is free for you to use. As time permits I will update it to match more of what it should be. Always consult local policies and procedures when updating or creating an SOP to ensure compliance.

It's also good to point out that SOP's are for active use. Through out my time in the maintenance field, most motor pools had SOP's but few used them. They are to be designed and addressed for the whole unit to use. Ideally, they should be designed to fit garrison and field operations, because regardless of where we are, our operations should remain the same..... train as you fight.
