Welcome to Virginia
Military Re-Sources©
a surf friendly site.
So how do
you use VaMR©?
Easy. The site is divided basically in to functional areas, military
information and the Virginia information (Commonwealth). The Commonwealth
is broken down in to regions which allows finding your information quicker
because you don't have to wade through a lot of stuff to find what you are
looking for. On the regional pages you'll find links to Counties and Cities
within the region, that is where you get your information, which should be the
most up-to-date. Also, the best place to start is the Virginia's Home Page or my
virginia as it is called. There you will
find a wealth of information such driver license, taxes and the such. The
military bases website also has a wealth of local information also, but the best
and most consistent information is S.I.T.E.S.
Here you will find information to all military bases in one spot. Also, there is
another very helpful site and that is Hometown
News. It is a site that list local newspapers online and by going to the
newspapers homepage you can find ways to subscribe before you even get there. I
have found this to be most helpful in the move because you become very familiar
by the articles and advertisements found in there that when you finally pull
into town, you know your way around. So in short if you are moving to Virginia:
-
Go to the Commonwealth
Page and locate the region you'll be living.
-
Find the County or City web link and
go to their site for up-to-date information.
-
Go to the Military
and go to Branch of service and then base you'll be station and find information
there you can use.
-
Go to S.I.T.E.S.
for a complete directory.
-
Go to Hometown
News and find the local paper to subscribe to.
-
Come back and visit
VIRGINIA's MILITARY Re-Sources©
to find other things you can do.
Surf Safe
